About the Conductors

Stephanie Riehl
Conductor and Music Director of the Oxford Winds

Stephanie is a founding performing member of the Oxford Winds and currently serves as Music Director of the organization. Before becoming conductor of the Oxford Winds in 2007, she played percussion and clarinet in the bands and served as the Vice President for the Board of Directors. Stephanie has completed her Grade 8 piano and her Grade 9 clarinet certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Music and is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Criminology and Minor in Music. Stephanie lives and works in Woodstock and when she is not making music with the Winds, she enjoys attending local concerts and spending time with friends and family.

Seth Spry
Conductor of the Oxford Breeze

Seth Spry is a dedicated music educator and conductor with a passion for fostering diverse and inclusive music education. Currently a teacher with the Thames Valley District School Board, Seth holds teachables in Music and History. He earned his undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Western Ontario.

During his time at Western, Seth was an active member of the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, serving as the Section Leader within the Ensembles. He specialized in music education and instrumental conducting, learning from esteemed educators and conductors. Seth completed his teacher education in 2024, specializing in Urban Education, emphasizing equitable and diverse music education practices. Upon his graduation, he received the Don Wright Faculty of Education Scholarship, presented to students who showcase strong teaching and academic ability within music education. 

Seth’s conducting experience includes serving as the Assistant Conductor for the Telephone City Musical Society, the oldest community band in Brantford, Ontario. He is also an active performer within his community, participating in various community bands, churches, and shows.

In addition to his educational and conducting roles, Seth serves as the Musical Director for K2K Productions Senior Company and ViSTO Summer Camp. In May 2024, he helped direct a production of Frozen Junior, working with 60 students to bring the musical to life.

Seth’s diverse experiences in music education, conducting, and community involvement make him a passionate advocate for the transformative power of music in both academic and community settings.
